Protecting Your Compliance and Working Environments

The Control Of Major Accident Hazards Regulations 2015 (COMAH), according the government’s published guidelines, “aims to prevent and mitigate the effects of major accidents involving dangerous substances which can cause serious damage/harm to people and/or the environment. COMAH treats risks to the environment as seriously as those to people.”

Where dangerous substances identified in the regulations are kept or used, your organisation may have to comply with COMAH regulations. This means taking “all measures necessary to prevent major accidents and limit their consequences to people and the environment”. This includes using Best Available Technologies to avoid or mitigate the risk of accidents.
