Section 278 works
STEM Construction were appointed to carry out:
- Installation of Surface Water drainage system to transfer flows from new properties to attenuation tank and road drainage to discharge into river Irwell
- Installation of foul drainage and associated manholes to discharge foul drainage from properties to main sewer in Adelphi Street. Including application to United Utilities for connection.
- Construction of new layby and footpaths to front of new developments including installation of tactile paving
- Construction of new cycleway to connect to existing riverside walkway
- Construction of new cycleway to connect to existing riverside walkway
- Construction of new block paving steps to 7 new town houses
- Supply and installation of Manchester bollards to S278 works
Works were carried out to BMD design drawings and specifications.
Contracted works were carried out in close proximity to other trades on site. Challenges encountered included dealing with restricted access and ensuring segregation of public and other contractors adjacent to the working areas.
Assisted the client in carrying out multiple additional works to assist in the timely delivery of the scheme.
