Mission Accomplished! STEM’s Daredevils Skydiving for Derian House
They Dared for Derian House Children’s Hospice!
On Sunday 20th August, two of STEM Construction’s bravest souls were thrown out of a perfectly working aircraft, 15,000 feet in the air!
The skydive by Steve Thornley and Chris Newton helped to take our fundraising for Derian House Children’s Hospice to well over £2,000 so far. Our chosen charity for 2023 will be able to help the more than 400 children they support, and their families, thanks to the support of our families, friends and business contacts.
Originally, the plan was for seven STEM colleagues to abseil 160 feet in Bolton, but that event had to be postponed, so Steve and Chris took the brave decision to switch to the skydive. It wasn’t just about conquering fears, it was a way to make a big difference in the lives of children with life-limiting or life-shortening conditions. Every single penny we raised will go directly to Derian House Children’s Hospice.
Derian House is a beacon of hope for countless children and their families in the North West of England. They provide respite and end-of-life care, offering a sanctuary where kids can experience joy, laughter, and love despite the challenges they face.
